Swimming is an essential life skill.

Teaching your child how to swim and be safe around pools and bodies of water prevents accidents and tragedies. Drowning is the second-leading cause of unintentional, injury-related death among children ages 1 to 14. A 2009 study found kids ages 1 to 4 who had taken swimming lessons showed a reduced risk of drowning by 88 percent.

Teach your kids to swim and provide them with the opportunity to practice and play in the water during the summer and they can build on these skills year after year over their entire childhood.

Parent-Child Water Acclimation for babies and toddlers

Water acclimation class for parents with their child ages 6 months to 3 years provides an opportunity for babies and toddlers to feel comfortable and find joy in the water while preparing for future swim lesson success.

Adults can take swim classes too!

Adult classes are available for those that never or hardly learned as kids and for people who learned but didn’t develop strong enough skills to get cardiovascular exercise from swimming. It’s never too late to learn to swim or to take your swimming skills to the next level.

Private Lessons

Private lessons can be scheduled with Rebecca Rain, owner of Rain or Shine Swim during the week and with other instructors on Friday afternoons, Monday mornings and  weekends.

Make up days

Please plan to attend all lessons in all weather. Always show up unless I email you. We will have swimming lessons in the rain and on cloudy days. Often we will still be able to have our lessons even if it has thundered earlier in the day, while you are driving to class or when there is a prediction for thunder. We will never swim when we hear thunder at the moment of the time lesson or if it is raining so hard that we cannot see the bottom of the pool. Quite often we will swim in the rain and thunder will only delay us for 15 minutes, and we will delay lessons. Occasionally we may have to reschedule lessons if there is an issue with the water quality of the pool. Make ups are not allowed for forgotten lessons or change in plans.
