Pretest:

A pretest will be held on the first day of the course. This is to ensure that you are able to swim and successfully perform a rescue. The pretest includes a 300 yard swim, 2 minute tread with no hands and a timed brick rescue.

 Blended learning course: 

The lifeguard course is composed of online coursework and in person skills sessions. Participants are required to have the online coursework completed by May 28.

Certification through the American Red Cross is good for 2 years.
